Energy Price Crisis! What crisis?

It is true that the big six, BG, NPower, Powergen, EDF, Scottish Power and Scottish & Southern are again raising prices by considerable amounts, but it is usually possible for most businesses to maintain prices compared with last years prices.. These prices can be secured for 3 years or more. In the long term we think energy prices will continue to rise by 15% to 20%p.a for the next 4 years but the real problems will come to a head about 2013 and last until new nuclear capacity comes along in about.2018. We are recommending 3 year deals to save money now and to be able to review the market situation in 2011-2012, when the situation after 2013 may be more clear.

From Russia with Love!

The big six gas prices can be cut by huge amounts. We are saving £1,000’s on relatively small users bills. The reason for this is simple; cutting the price is the only way for a new supplier such as Gazprom s to get a share of the market. Other companies have retaliated by offering reductions. Gazprom is regulated in the same way as the German, Spanish & French Companies that control most of our supplies. Two English electricity suppliers can undercut most prices by 5% to 25%.We found one business that would have paid 140% more had they not changed through us.

Why we can provide the best prices;

  • TenGo produces spreadsheets to show savings & prices from all suppliers. We believe we are the only broker to do this as a regular procedure. If you are renewing your agreement, ask the broker to produce a price comparison with all suppliers. If they waffle or refuse, send them packing. We enclose some spreadsheets to show some of the savings we have achieved. (There are about 3,500 tariffs/supplier/areas).
    • We are entirely independent and can offer savings from all reputable companies. Despite trying to tempt us with higher rewards, it has been our policy for the last 12 years never to sign an exclusive agreement with any provider.

We can usually beat anyone else because we are not greedy with our own margins.

    • We have virtually eliminated overheads.

    •  We co-operate with other reputable brokers to increase buying power; thus strengthening our position.

"A verbal contract ain’t worth the paper it’s written on" said the late Sam Goldwyn. He could not have been involved in the energy business as regularly business people find that their contract has rolled over on the basis of a telephone call. We find that some 33% of enquiries that come to us are tied into higher prices for perhaps a couple of years. Our prospective customers are losing on average £2,000 per annum. We have a management service to enable us to take action before the renewal notice arrives.

Smart Metering

We have just made arrangements to save £36,000 for a local firm on standard Half Hourly metering. TenGo has been specialists in the half hourly market for 12 years. TenGo has been offering the same service for smaller sites for the last two years. . The use of smart meters has been highlighted in the Government’s energy review and savings of 5% to 15% are being achieved..

Meter, Cable and Pipe Installation; there is now a real alternative to Transco/National Grid installation. Naturally all work has to be carried out by approved installers and is inspected by approved staff. We achieve greater efficiency, save time and lower costs.

Energy Performance Directive.

The European Directive for Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD) will require an Energy Performance Certificate by January 2009. It is loosely a commercial version of HIPS. The big difference is that commercial premises will have to have one whether selling or not. AN EPC survey record shows how efficient your premises are by grading from A to G. If a business does not have a certificate, the proprietors may be fined up to £5,000. Greg Spiteri of Oval Insurers says "Aside from significant fines that can be incurred from not having an EPC, those without them may have difficulty in renting or selling their property". We suggest that businesses do not rush into a deal with the first commission salesman to offer a deal. We are evaluating all known providers and potential providers and we will come up with a pack in the next couple of months or so. Edward has allocated us up to 200 hours and 2000 miles travelling to find the best deal. If you register your interest, we will come back with the best available deal in the near future.

Telephone Call costs.

Believe it or not, nearly 50% of users are still connected to BT..TenGo can usually cut costs from whatever supplier by about 30 to 40%; this is on the total bill, not just local and national calls. We found one user who would have paid 116% more had they not changed. .The supplier we recommend is always first tier, with proven top quality service and billing. n increasing volume of calls is going from landline to mobiles; we therefore have a special tariff for these businesses,. TenGo has 100 ancillary services including Blackberry, VOIP and remote virtual offices. can usually cut costs from whatever supplier by about 30 to 40%; this is on the total bill, not just local and national calls. • National Association of Business Services.
  • This was formed 7 years ago to make non-utility savings for businesses. All TenGo clients are invited to join NABS free of charge. Normal cost is £95..00 compared with other Trade Associations who may charge up to £2,000. Make use of our 5,000 hours of research.
  • Our services are the best available. Typically we contact 200 potential suppliers, put 20 enquiries to each and make a short list of 20 and start the selection process from there. Where we have no expertise, we at NABS are not involved in transactions. It is a matter for the experts in each field. We invite you to compare our services with any other trade organisation. Membership of these costs between £100 & £1,500.
  • Why we can usually beat trade associations; most arrange a high rate commission deal with just ONE supplier. The association gets a good commission but the member is offered what is probably far from the best for them. We choose the best from all suppliers.

  • Employment. "My goodness gracious me!" The "Kaplinski" Effect.
  • It is a very hazardous business to employ people in the UK. Race Discrimination Claims, unfair Dismissal claims, Maternity Leave, Paternity leave, fictitious sickness, "Elf & Safety" terrorists, tribunals run by people who have never done an honest day’s work and now flexible working for parents, allowing some to work when they feel like it, .all make the life of business people much harder. We can outsource all office operations except filing & opening the morning post. We do not use sweat shops and the offices in India are up to date and air conditioned. Employees are usually better educated and speak "educated Indian English". Typical savings on a Call Centre operation are 40% with increased efficiency of 25%. Small scale businesses can use this service. As prices start from £400. Larger users can have a paid trip to India to inspect the facilities.

Private Healthcare; huge savings for individuals and businesses can be made by using our specialist broker. Savings of £5,400p.a have been made for one person. Cost cutting is done in 3 main ways:

1. Shopping around for the best company/deal

2. Using the lowest cost schemes that may not be available to the general public

3. Many are paying for services not required. We found a woman of 67 was paying for maternity cover.

Childcare vouchers that in effect can give up to a total of £1,600 to the business or employees can be arranged. There are also other benefits for the employer.

Buying or selling a business or new business premises. Agents typically charge 2% to 3%. Our principals charge 1%, have nationwide local valuers. And a long list of buyers and sellers.

Insurance costs. Typically James Gibson & Co can cut commercial insurance by 10% to 20%. If you would like a call from them, let us know.

A disgraceful statistic is that 15,000-25,000 people die p.a because of cold related problems. Over a million pensioners are said to live in one room to save fuel costs. With our cash-back system, this dreadful state of affairs could be eliminated. But it takes a public spirited person to organise in each area; we have no time to do this.

Liquidity; If you are considering legal action to recover debts, do not be put off by the outrageous legal charges of at least £100 to take out a CCJ. We can arrange proceedings for £30. with low cost letters demanding payment.

Legal costs may be high; for a fixed annual fee, you can have as many consultations as you wish. Firm quotations can be given for work commissioned. Legal costs may be high; fora fixed annual fee, you can have as many consultations as you wish. Firm quotations can be given for work commissioned.

£100,000 for charity via TenGo in 2008 without costing anyone a penny?

We continue to raise money for good causes. We missed our target of £100,000 in 2007 but we have started very well for 2008. We give cash back to businesses using our services. Therefore they, not us, get the credit for the donations. We do not want business where we cannot make savings or improve services. There are so many worthy causes that we do not select them.. We are not a charity, collect no money but give it. This is new money is provided by THE NEAT GROUP; not some collected at the expense of another good cause.

In addition to this, we have made arrangements for those using 118 520 for directory enquiries to have 9p per call to NSPCC funds! We hope that we can raise an additional £2,000 for this purpose. Again this is "New Money" and not at the expense of contributions one may donate anyway.

    Helping new businesses

We can usually help to the extent of a minimum of £2,000 by way of cash back and lower cost services. One of our energy suppliers has a special tariff for those moving or starting a new business. Sometimes, financial services are difficult to obtain; we can supply credit cards and bank accounts. The new business may be compatible with ours and the proprietor can act as part time agents for us.

    Post Office Closures.

The Post Office is closing many branches and we can do nothing about this. We can however offer substantial help by way of savings and cash-back. For the last 10 years we have offered a service to Post Offices, Village and Corner Shops. This initiative is available under our POViCS operation. Whilst many complain about the erosion of these services, we are, as far as we know, the only company to put our money and time where our mouth is. We can provide £2,000 or so on average to such concerns by way of cash back and cost cutting. Where they may be combined with a larger business, we think that the amount can increase to £6,000 average. Compare our services with Federation of Sub Post Masters.

    Public House Closures.

27 a week are said to be closing and it is a tough world for many Public House tenants. Some energy companies are giving special tariffs "tailored to the needs of the industry." This is gobblygook for increased prices. We can save about £2,000 per annum on these high tariffs. TenGo can make many savings in other ways; a good example is tax set off against capital expenditure; up to £6,000 has been reyurned.. This can be back dated if the items are still in use... Whilst this applies to any business, pubs & hotels often have greater scope for savings and we can arrange local valuations.

Affinity Schemes Raise as much money as you like without costing any one a penny.! Any charity or good cause can benefit by offering some of our services to the public. For each one agreeing to take lower costs, we pay about £20 per service. A child play group wants £2,000 for equipment; we would pay say £20 per service offered. If 100 people save money on only one service and we pay £20 each and Hey Presto! £2,000 raised.

Business failure can result in the threat of repossessions of people’s homes. We can arrange to buy and rent back to the previous owner and give the option to buy back on favourable terms when problems are over. We can even, in some cases, provide work within the group to help people get back on their feet.

"Make a better mousetrap and people will beat a path to your door" is a paraphrase of a remark made by R.W.Emerson. Well that may be true of the pest control industry but not of cost saving. We have to find people that want to save money and the planet. If you use our service and recommend someone to us we will pay £20 to £500 to you for doing this. We appreciate these are not significant sums to you, but if you wish to donate this to charity, it will help to make a significant sum.

    Warning; Rip off Britain

There are many punk advisors who claim to help businesses. We ourselves were offered services that would have cost £35,000; we did it ourselves for £166. We also invite comparisons with other organisations such as FSB and U.K. Trade Federation, Federation of Sub Post Masters, RETRA etc.

We have recently won £9,000 in compensation for negligence for a client and we did this free of charge. For two domestic clients, we have also won about £1,000 each. Since the work is unpaid, there is a limit to the number of domestic cases we can pursue, so we give priority to our business clients.

A new twist to The Credit squeeze is that some banks are withdrawing credit cards from credit worthy people on the grounds that they are not profitable. If anyone with good or bad credit records, cannot get a debit or credit card our broker can usually arrange one. However go to other banks first as a charge has to be made by us for providing these New businesses may find it difficult to get a business account. Usually we can provide.

    Saving the Strawberry crops

A new crack down on immigrant workers may mean that strawberries and other products may not be harvested. Many British unemployed find the rate of £7 per hour for a 10 hour shift is unattractive.

Immigrant workers often cannot get bank accounts;. To help mobility of workers, a charged debit card is sometimes the answer. careful checks are made to ensure that illegal immigrants cannot get these cards. Mary Wood ACA

           Water

We find that about 1 in 4 bills are incorrect. We will have a look at any bill over £3,000 p.a. Somerset County Cricket Club was paying sewerage rates for watering the pitch! We can go back 6 years to claim refunds! Where the annual bill tops £3,500, we can sometimes detect leaks and change meter size. PIR controls can be installed and for "Gents" we have available waterless systems. (Emphatically not scented blocks)The latter can save about £600 pa per average sized pub. Water companies love us!
    •  Saving on LPG Oil Electricity and Gas usage
    •  We have available, the best boiler controls for gas and oil systems. Savings of 15% to 25% are regularly being obtained.
    • We offer the world’s best descaler
    • For smaller businesses, our FUELEX makes savings of 5% to 20%. Similar savings can made for vehicles as well. Payback time can be as little as 3 months.
    • Site surveys are available for larger users.
    • The provision of AC Induction motor controls can cut costs by up to 15%.
    • The best lime de-scaler is the world! Huge saving can be made by de-scaling water systems. This is done electronically using both Radio Frequency and Direct Inductive coupling.. removing 6mm of scale can reduce bills by 35%
